Terms & Conditions
The easiest and most secure way to register for courses is through your own account on our website.
- You can also register by calling the office at 018-531 620 or by visiting us during office hours. Registration by email to medis@mariehamn.ax is also possible, but we recommend using your account on the website as we receive many emails and processing may take longer.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation by email.
- Registration becomes binding 7 days before the course starts and it is no longer possible to cancel without charge. This also applies to individual courses.
- If a course is fully booked, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified by SMS if a spot becomes available.
If you are unable to attend, you should cancel as soon as possible. Courses can be cancelled free of charge up to eight (8) days before the course start date.
Cancellations can be made in the following ways:
- Via your user account on our website
- By email to medis@mariehamn.ax
- By SMS to the Medis office mobile: +358 457 539 2159
Note: A cancellation through a course instructor/teacher is not valid!
Once you have received a “Welcome to the course” message, you can no longer cancel free of charge and will be required to pay the full course fee and any additional costs.
In case of an extended absence, please inform the office. If you withdraw from a course, the course fee will not be refunded.
A reduction of the course fee due to illness is only granted upon presentation of a doctor’s note. Please send a copy of the note to medis@mariehamn.ax or present it at the reception. We record the sick leave in our course system but do not retain the note or any additional information.
Amounts lower than 15 euros are not refunded
If the teacher is ill, we will first try to find a substitute. If this is not possible, the session will be cancelled. Individual cancelled sessions are generally not rescheduled, and cancelled or discontinued sessions are not refunded as long as the number does not exceed one third (1/3) of the total course sessions.

Private Music Lessons
In case of absence:
- Notify your teacher
- Inform the office by email or SMS
If absence is reported at least 24 hours before the lesson, it may be rescheduled by agreement between the teacher and student.
Otherwise, the same rules apply for private lessons as for all other courses.
If the teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach, the student must be offered an alternative lesson time during the term or a corresponding reduction in the course fee.
