MEDIS + EUROPA = TRUE

Mars 2026
Over the past year, Medis has, thanks to the Erasmus+ programme, established new connections across Europe.

“This applies both to us who work here and to our adult learners,” says Ester Laurell, Vice Principal who coordinates the projects at Medis.

Last year, one third of the staff participated in courses or job shadowing abroad.

“For me personally, the world became bigger when I met new people in a different context. I gain new ideas and see things from new perspectives. It means a great deal for my personal and professional development,” Ester explains.

Now Medis participants are travelling abroad
“The EU provides opportunities for cross-border exchange, and we are starting on a small scale in order to learn. We have time to think long-term and take things step by step. We have been granted accreditation, which guarantees us a certain level of funding for our internationalisation each year.”

Trips are now being planned to various organisations across Europe that can host groups from Medis. Information and calls for interest will be sent directly to course participants within different themes. Current opportunities can be found on the website under News.

“It’s about doing and experiencing things together - sharing and learning in the midst of diversity. The Erasmus+ programme aims to strengthen our shared values, such as democracy, sustainable development, and opportunities for active citizenship. It also seeks to give people facing greater challenges the chance to experience more, which is why selection criteria are in place.”

“And when we travel, we should bring both curiosity and respect for what is different. That is what makes the journey meaningful - even when things don’t turn out as expected,” says Ester.
